Currently, the Toshima Historical Museum is holding an exhibition of collection materials on the theme of Toden, “Toden running in Toshima Ward.”<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Toden, which once operated like a mesh in central Tokyo, was widely used as the main means of transportation used by the citizens of Tokyo. However, it gradually disappeared from the road surface due to the development of automobile traffic and the development of subways during the period of high economic growth from the latter half of the 1950s.<\/p>\n Currently, there are only the Toden-Arakawa Line (Tokyo Sakura Tram) that runs between Minowa Bridge and Waseda, and there are nine stops in Toshima Ward.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n (Photo by Kazuhiko Matsui) Stop in front of Ikebukuro Station<\/p><\/div>\n <\/p>\n In this exhibition of collection materials, we will introduce the figures of people who use Toden and Toden, focusing on the photographs taken and provided by Mr. Kazuhiko Matsui, a photographer living in the ward who continued to take pictures of Toden from Showa to Heisei. ..<\/p>\n In addition, in the corner that introduces the Toden-Arakawa Line, photographs of Toden, commemorative tickets, photographs of the Arakawa train office that manages vehicles, and Toden-related goods are displayed.
