The 14th Ikebukuro Montparnasse Museum of Art will be held from May 16th to 29th. With the concept that "the entire town will be an art museum", venues are dotted in various places in the town such as department stores, universities, NPO groups, and nearby galleries. You can enjoy various art while visiting the city of Ikebukuro. This time, plans are also planned for the "East Asian Cultural City 2019 Toshima", which is currently being held. There is a wide range of lectures on art exchanges focusing on East Asia and exhibitions of pictures drawn by children from China and Korea. More than 60 art events such as exhibitions, performances, lectures, workshops, and walks in the streets during the two-week session are packed. Above all, "Ikebukuro Art Gathering Open Call Exhibition (IAG Open Call Exhibition)", which is the main project, has increased its presence as a public open call show every year. Not only contemporary art, but also exhibitions and lectures related to "Ikebukuro Montparnasse" from which this art event originated are planned. Background / Supplementary items Ikebukuro Montparnasse: In the 1930s and 1940s, there were several atelier villages (houses with ateliers) around the Ikebukuro West Entrance, and many artists and their aspirations were active.
