At the Sunshine Aquarium (Ikebukuro, Tokyo), the fifth event “Zokuzoku Deep Sea Life 2021” will be held from January 15th (Friday) to March 7th (Sunday), 2021. It will be held.

The more you know!” , Not only the special exhibition of deep-sea creatures, but also the exhibition of specimens of deep-sea creatures that you can hardly see, and the deep sea, which became the first hatching case in Japan this year. The breeding record of fish elephant sharks is also released !! In addition, we will hold various events that can only be experienced at the sunshine aquarium, such as a corner where you can see the state of deep sea research and research at the sunshine aquarium, and a backyard tour.

➀ Limited to the period !! Installation of a special aquarium

Due to the low habitat temperature of deep-sea organisms, the surface temperature of the seawater drops and it can only be collected in winter, when it has the least impact on deep-sea organisms. At the Sunshine Aquarium, the breeding staff will actually try to collect deep-sea creatures and display the collected creatures in a special aquarium. In addition, this time we will focus on red shrimp and install a special aquarium specializing in ecological explanations, origins of names, and their characteristics.

 

 

➁ Only 2 aquariums in Japan can be seen! Released the breeding record of the deep-sea creature “Australian Haunting”

Introducing the elephant shark that is open to the public in the “Cold Sea” aquarium on the 1st floor of the building.
In fact, there are two aquariums that are bred all over Japan, including the Sunshine Aquarium, and it is a creature that you can hardly see !! A part of the breeding record will also be released.

 

 

 

③ Underwater drone model display / commentary panel

We will set up a model display of the underwater drone used by the Sunshine Aquarium in research and a commentary panel that describes the efforts at the Sunshine Aquarium using the underwater drone, and explain the secret!

Deep-sea creatures, real food!

Sunshine Aquarium staff will actually eat the creatures collected in the deep sea and post a panel summarizing their tastes and characteristics in a report format. At the same time, we will post a reaction video of the staff actually eating deep-sea creatures on the official SNS.
