The "5th Ikebukuro Mirai International Film Festival" will be held online from January 23rd (Sat) to 31st (Sun), 2nd year of Reiwa.
This film festival started in 2016 with the aim of fostering young filmmakers who will lead the future of teens to 20s with the local people. "International" in the title of the film festival is named with the hope that young people involved in the film festival will fly from Japan to overseas in the future.
We started recruiting movie works in August, and all 20 works were submitted. The award-winning films will be decided on the final day (31st) of this film festival (5 past awards will be delivered from January 23rd to 30th). This time, it will be held online as a countermeasure against infectious diseases. The six prize-winning works selected by the executive committee in the first round of judging will be distributed, and the judges will appreciate and decide on each prize. Viewers can also participate as a general judge by applying online.
The feature of this competition is that it evaluates not only the quality of the work but also the "youth" from the keywords "youth support" and "school". "Youth" has a track record of evaluating how "youth," "heat," and "sweet and sourness" are packed, even if it is rough-cut compared to commercial works, and it is expected to be exciting this time as well.
The person in charge said, "We switched to holding online so as not to lose the place for presentation even in the corona sickness. Many of the prize-winning works were produced last year or two years ago, and there are also remote works, etc. It can be said that it is a life-sized figure of each "youth" under the circumstances. I want many people to see the rough and hot work. "
