Sunshine Aquarium (Ikebukuro, Tokyo) will be holding a special evening event themed around the "sex" of living creatures, titled "Still Lots of Sex Exhibition," from Friday, September 11th to Tuesday, November 3rd (holiday) .
The "Sex-Filled Exhibition" is a unique Sunshine Aquarium event where visitors can learn about the "mysteries of sex," including the sexuality of living creatures and the strategies and ingenuity they use to survive, in a fun way. This fifth installment of the popular event, which has attracted a total of approximately 120,000 visitors since its first run in 2019, will feature numerous exhibits that allow visitors to "touch, move, and experience," along with newly introduced interactive content and explanatory panels, offering a deep dive into the world of living creatures that are rarely seen.
For living creatures, "sex" is a desperate act of perpetuating life itself. There are amazing strategies and ingenuity at play in every aspect of it to ensure the survival of the species. With the desire to share even more of the fascinating and interesting aspects of living creatures that we couldn't cover in the previous four installments, we have decided to hold this unique event, which can only be done at Sunshine Aquarium, once again.
This year's exhibition, the first in two years since 2024, will feature different themes in each area: "Reproductive Behavior," "Courtship," and "Raising Offspring." The exhibition will showcase the differences between sexes in living creatures, including reproductive behavior, courtship, and reproductive organs, through various exhibits accompanied by uniquely illustrated explanatory panels. Take this opportunity to learn about the sexuality of living creatures and discover even more fascinating aspects of them at the "Sex-Filled Exhibition"!

The sexual world of living creatures has been acquired by each species in the struggle for survival, and as life has continued to pass on to the present day, a wide variety of sexual patterns have been established. In this process, various factors such as the natural environment and competition with other species have interacted in complex ways, and some species have evolved uniquely. Compared to the sexual situation of us humans, some may make you wonder, "How did that happen?", but there you can see the circumstances surrounding sexuality that are unique to each species. We hope that you will come and see, feel, and learn at the "Sex-Filled Exhibition" and that it will lead to "discoveries that move your heart".
