As an outdoor drama of Tokyo Arts Festival 2020, the late Koharu Kisaragi will perform "NIPPON CHA! CHA! CHA!", Which depicts the hustle and bustle of the eve of the Olympic Games, at GLOBAL RING THEATER (Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Park Outdoor Theater) in October 2020. It was decided to do it.

A story of a small hustle and bustle in the middle of a big "empty"

"NIPPON CHA! CHA! CHA!" Was announced as a feature-length work by Koharu Kisaragi in 1988, and has been repeatedly performed by various artists until now, most recently in January 2020 at KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theater. It is one of Koharu Kisaragi's masterpieces, such as being staged by Un Yamada. This is an outdoor drama at the Tokyo Arts Festival 2020, which will be performed unexpectedly in October 2020, the same as the stage of the work, before the Olympic Games.

The director of this work is Makoto Nakashima, an artistic director of the Tottori Tori Theater, who has received high praise from home and abroad for directing a wide range of works with a high degree of universality that is still relevant today.

In addition, Daisuke Fuwa of Shibusashirazu will be invited to the music, and Atelier Bow-Wow, an architect, will be invited to the performing arts, and 14 up-and-coming actors selected from the auditions of 200 applicants will challenge this outdoor drama.

[Comment] director Nakajima Ryojin

Because of this situation, I want everyone to see the play. I would like you to stop by the enthusiastic activities of many human beings who pour as much energy as possible into their bodies, and if possible, give their hearts to them.

The words "unnecessary and non-urgent" and "essential" make "survival" the most important criterion. Nowadays, the essential meaning of survival, being alive, just being, the importance of each person continuing to live with their brilliance, and the way society supports it are being questioned.

I believe that this outdoor drama in the middle of Ikebukuro, the capital of Japan in the 21st century, will give us an opportunity to think about the way our society is coming and going from various angles.
