RT Corporation, a consolidated subsidiary of Takashimaya Co., Ltd., is pleased to announce that it has decided to open the Ikebukuro East Exit branch of its Taiwanese restaurant chain Din Tai Fung, its 29th branch in Japan, on May 15, 2025.

Din Tai Fung, a Taiwanese restaurant beloved by many customers for its dim sum dishes, known for its signature dish, Xiaolongbao, was selected as one of the "Ten Most Distinctive Restaurants in the World" by the New York Times in 1993. The restaurant will open its 29th branch in Japan at the Ikebukuro East Exit.

The newly opened Ikebukuro East Exit store will be the first Din Tai Fung store in Japan to occupy an entire building as a street-level store. Next to the first-floor entrance, customers will be greeted by a glass-enclosed dim sum room where dim sum chefs painstakingly prepare xiaolongbao. Seating is available from the first to fourth floors (98 seats in total), with each floor featuring a different design, allowing customers to enjoy a relaxing meal. There are private rooms on the fourth floor that can be used for dining with family or friends.

Our signature dish, Xiaolongbao, is a luxurious xiaolongbao made with finely textured, flavorful "Rokuhaku Kurobuta" pork, which is aged for a long time at "Sousuiryu Livestock" at the foot of the Kirishima Mountains. We also offer a lineup of special dishes, including our new menu item, Kuwasuiryu Kurobuta Xiaolongbao with Shanghai Crab Miso, as well as other appetizers and dishes not available at other stores*.

Din Tai Fung is a dim sum restaurant whose signature dish is xiaolongbao. Founded in 1958 in Taipei, Taiwan as an oil wholesaler dealing in edible oil, Din Tai Fung began selling xiaolongbao and other dim sum dishes in 1972.
