Before the Tokyo 2020 Games, Toshima Ward will be in Hareza Ikebukuro for one day on the theme of "Sports, Traditional Crafts" and "Literature" that unite the world on Culture Day on November 3rd. Will be exhibited.

The Olympic and Paralympic Games, which are both a "sports festival" and a "cultural festival."

Based on the valuable materials of Mr. Hiroshi Ishii, a silver medalist of the 800m relay swimming race in the 1960 Rome Games from Toshima Ward, and Mr. Sakae Sakahara, a traditional craftsman who expressed Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, in Tokyo hand-drawn Yuzen. In 2020, from Toshima Ward, Tokyo, we will convey the charm and "Olympism" of "a festival of sports, art and culture that connects people around the world".

The highlight of this time is the "furisode unveiling event" from 16:00. Introducing models from various countries, wearing Yuzen furisode designed in the image of Saint Lucia, Bangladesh, the host town of Toshima Ward, Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Together with traditional craftsmen Sakahara and Olympian Ishii, five people will create an Olympic ring that "unifies the world" in Toshima Ward, Tokyo.

The kimonos of the three countries are three of the 207 kimonos that depict the countries and regions participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games produced by the "KIMONO Project (*)" . It also introduces modern Japanese literature, sports, and the surprising love of the Olympics.

Produced KIMONO (furisode and obi) depicting the nature, culture, and history of each of the 207 countries and regions participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Through KIMONO with the wishes of peace and prosperity of each country, we will develop the "KIMONO project" that sends the message that "the world will surely be one."

Produced as a single item by famous authors from all over Japan, the production cost is 2 million yen per country, regardless of the size of the country. The amount is donations from all over Japan, and the entire amount is given to each creator. The members who are active are all volunteers. It is the only project that can send a message of peace from Japan to the Peace Festival, covering all participating countries and regions, and welcoming all of them.
