The project "Ikebukuro Mirror World" will start to make Toshima Ward, Ikebukuro, and the future interesting.
TV TOKYO Corporation will implement the virtual city of Ikebukuro in March 2021 with 10 companies. Local companies in Ikebukuro and Otsuka, start-up companies, etc. will come together to create a virtual and real community. A project called "Ikebukuro Mirror World" will be launched with the aim of revitalizing the region by sharing ideas for new products and services while fully multiplying the assets and energy of the local people.
The distribution and broadcast program "Atsushi Tamura Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku" (every Sunday at 2:05 pm) based on the complex event building Mixalive TOKYO (Higashiikebukuro, Toshima-ku), which opened in March 2020, became the starting point for information dissemination. We have begun efforts to make the city interesting.
Purpose of project start
While the spread of the new coronavirus infection has reduced the number of real contacts between humans, the world of online connections has advanced more than ever and we have entered an era of strong awareness of "real and online."
"Ikebukuro Mirror World" started from the enthusiasm to move the economy through trial and error with various companies in Ikebukuro that are stuck in the corona. We are trying to create a new cultural area and economic area between virtual and real, realize open innovation, and create a community that thoroughly utilizes the "strengths" of Ikebukuro's cultural assets such as animation and games. I came up with the idea. We aim to be an original community to build with people from big companies to start-ups, residents of the ward, people in Japan who are highly interested in anime, games, and art culture, and people all over the world.
The first launch of the "Ikebukuro Mirror World" project is the "Mirror World EXPO" (held from March 27 to 29, 2021). Experience what you can do now. This is an event where more viewers will see what we can do soon, and we will talk about ideas about future city planning and newly created content.
