Yoko Shimomura is a composer who has received worldwide acclaim for her wonderful music that has graced numerous masterpieces such as "Street Fighter II," "LIVE A LIVE," "Super Mario RPG," "Legend of Mana," "Xenoblade," "FINAL FANTASY XV," and the "Kingdom Hearts" series.
This is a special anniversary concert celebrating approximately 40 years of musical achievement, during which they continued to create melodies that have been etched into the hearts of many people across generations.
The concert will be conducted by Grammy Award-winning Arnie Roth, who has conducted numerous video game soundtracks including "Distant Worlds: music of FINAL FANTASY," and will feature the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra performing at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre on September 25th.
The magnificent orchestral sound brings those memorable scenes back to life, delivering joy and emotion.

Yoko Shimomura (composer)
Graduated from the Osaka College of Music Junior College, Department of Music, Instrumental Music Major (Piano). After working at Capcom Co., Ltd. and Square Co., Ltd. (now Square Enix Co., Ltd.), he became independent and is currently active as a freelance composer both domestically and internationally.
He has worked on numerous popular titles such as "Street Fighter II," "Super Mario RPG," "Legend of Mana," the "Kingdom Hearts" series, and "Final Fantasy XV," and is highly regarded as one of the leading composers in the world of video game music.
He works across a wide range of genres, from rhythmic pieces created using electronic music to grand orchestral works for large ensembles. He is also highly regarded for his delicate and emotionally rich melodies and dramatic musical expression, and his music is loved by many people across countries and generations. He enjoys international popularity, with his music being performed at concerts and events all over the world.
In recent years, he has been involved not only in composing but also in songwriting and producing, and continues to be active in a wide range of fields including games, anime, and video works. His achievements over more than 30 years and his great contributions to game music culture have been highly praised, and in 2024 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards. Furthermore, in 2025 he became the first game music composer to receive the BAFTA Fellowship, the highest honor of the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), and his achievements are highly regarded internationally.
Arnie Ross (conductor)
Conductor Arnie Roth is a Grammy Award-winning musician known for his collaborations with world-renowned artists and orchestras. He is also well-known in the world of video game music, having worked with Square Enix to conduct and direct numerous tours, including "Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY," "FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Orchestra World Tour," and "NieR:Orchestra Concert re:12018," and has served as both director and producer.
To date, he has produced numerous best-selling albums for labels such as American Gramaphone, Mattel, Warner Bros., Sony, Universal, Koch, Razor & Tie, AWR Records, and Square Enix Music, demonstrating his wide range of activities.
Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra
Founded in 1911, it is Japan's oldest orchestra. It combines the functions of both a symphony orchestra and a theater orchestra. Honorary Music Director is Myung-Whun Chung, Principal Conductor is Andrea Battistoni, and Special Guest Conductor is Mikhail Pletnev. In addition to its own concerts, it performs opera and ballet at the New National Theatre and other venues, and conducts high-level performances on NHK and other broadcasts. It also actively performs overseas, attracting considerable attention.
