Sunshine City Prince Hotel will celebrate its 45th anniversary on Friday, April 4, 2025. The hotel will designate the year 2025 as its opening anniversary year, offering "45" experiences such as accommodation plans, restaurant products, and event planning, to liven up the 45th anniversary year throughout the hotel.
The "45 Experiences" accommodation plan includes a suite with a view of the nightscape from the highest floor of any hotel in the area. We also offer a high-priced plan that allows you to experience an extraordinary, luxurious hotel stay, including a special nighttime reservation of Sunshine Aquarium and the ability to dine on your favorite dishes at the hotel restaurant during your stay.
The restaurant will offer a 45th anniversary cake, an opening commemorative menu, a seasonal sweets buffet, and more.
Additionally, on the anniversary of the hotel's opening, the opening year will be celebrated with the opening of a new restaurant exclusively for this collaboration – a first for the Prince Hotel Group – as well as the reopening of a newly refurbished Japanese restaurant.

44 years of walking alongside Ikebukuro, the entertainment district
It opened on April 4, 1980 as a high-rise hotel attached to Sunshine City 60, a large complex that was said to be the tallest skyscraper in the Orient at the time of its establishment in 1978.
Toshima ward, where our hotel is located, was declared a city at risk of disappearing in 2014. In order to overcome this, the ward unveiled its International Arts and Culture City concept in 2016, aiming to create a sustainable city by unearthing the appeal of its long-standing culture. The city has undergone remarkable evolution through the proactive promotion of anime, art, and other cultures, and has now grown into a "mecca of subculture" visited by many people from Japan and abroad.
As the city continues to evolve as a source of new entertainment, we will continue to move forward together with the city, proposing new ways to spend time in a hotel that are unique to Ikebukuro and contributing to the development of the city.
