Toshima knitting and connecting town art

main

Let's create new art and culture together, aiming for Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, a town that you will want to visit many times.

Sunshine City Co., Ltd. (Ikebukuro, Tokyo) and Hibiya Amenis Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo) use yarn in the "Toshima Midori Disaster Prevention Park", nicknamed IKE SUNPARK. From September 2021 to 2022, the "Toshima Knitting and Connecting Town Art" project will be held to create new Ikebukuro art and culture together with people who are attached to Ikebukuro through "Yarn Bomming", which weaves trees and buildings in the park. It will be held in January.

main

Under the supervision of Mr. 203gow, a knitting artist who works on knitting art works created by everyone at the "Regional / Multi-Household Knitting Exchange Meeting", the "Knitting Owl Forest" is based on the image of an owl, which is also a symbol of Toshima Ward. The theme is "Ike Sun Park and the town of Ikebukuro."
Workshops for knitting motifs will be held in various parts of Ikebukuro from September to November 2021, and motifs will be solicited from all over Japan. These motifs will be woven into trees in Ike Sunpark and will be exhibited at Ike Sunpark from December 1, 2021 (Wednesday) to January 31, 2022 (Monday). After the exhibition period, the works will be transformed into rugs used on the lawn and donated to Ike Sunpark.
