池袋各所で複数の謎解きやミステリーアトラクションを展開する産学官連携プロジェクト「池袋ミステリータウン」のアトラクションとして、2024年3月16日～17日の2日間に「没入型 推理体験上映会」が開催され、約300名が本格的な推理体験を楽しみました。 会場となったのは雑司が谷旧宣教師館と、豊島区内13か所の区民ひろばです。今回は雑司が谷旧宣教師館で行われた特別版の上映会を取材しました。 豊島区は日本の推理小説の礎を築いた江戸川乱歩の旧邸が現存している地であり、京極夏彦『姑獲鳥の夏』をはじめ区内を舞台にした作品も多い、ミステリーとのゆかりが深いエリアです。 そんな歴史や文化を活かして、江戸川乱歩の作家デビュー100周年を機に2023年7月より始まったのが「池袋ミステリータウン」。豊島区や大正大学、さまざまな民間企業が協力し、池袋各所でミステリーアトラクションを仕掛けるプロジェクトです。 アトラクションの参加者は、架空の新聞社ミステリータイムズからの協力依頼を受けたという設定で、池袋の各所で起きる不可解な事件を調査・取材します。『金田一少年の事件簿』を題材にした本格謎解きミステリーや、商店街での子供向けスポット探索ミステリー、ホテルでの宿泊型ミステリーなど、内容がライトなものからヘビーなものまで幅広く展開されており、誰でも気軽に参加することができます。 このたび開催された「没入型 推理体験上映会」は、なかでも本格的な推理アトラクションで、世界のミステリー作品を舞台化・上演しているノサカラボとのコラボで生まれたもの。日本三大名探偵の一人・神津恭介を主人公にした推理小説を原作とする新作舞台『わが一高時代の犯罪』の上演記念で企画・制作されました。参加費は無料です。 アトラクション自体は2023年に上演した神津恭介シリーズの第1弾『呪縛の家』を題材にしたもので、参加者はパート分けされた舞台映像を視聴しながら、捜査資料をもとに推理を繰り返して事件の真相に迫ります。このような舞台映像を使用した推理アトラクションは、業界でも初の試みとのこと。 東京都指定有形文化財である雑司が谷旧宣教師館と、豊島区内13か所の区民ひろばを会場として開催されましたが、雑司が谷旧宣教師館のみ特別版という位置づけで、定員15名の参加者は名探偵のコスプレをすることが参加条件。推理もほかの参加者と共有しながら進める形式で、解決パート直前に推理のプレゼンテーションも行うなど、より上質な推理体験が楽しめる特別仕様になっていました。 ここからは、雑司が谷旧宣教師館での特別上映会の様子をご紹介します。 夕刻、雑司が谷旧宣教師館に抽選枠を勝ちとった15名の参加者が集まりました。シャーロック・ホームズを思わせるケープ付きコートのコーディネートでバッチリ決めてくる方もいれば、仕事帰りだったのか、入場を待っている間にスーツから持参したコスプレ用ジャケットに着替える方もいて、各々が自分の楽しめる範囲でコスプレを楽しんでいました。 特別上映会では、まず舞台『呪縛の家』の主演をつとめた俳優の林一敬さんが神津恭介に扮し、参加者に語り掛ける撮りおろし映像からスタート。 神津は新聞社ミステリータイムズの顧問探偵という設定で、池袋で頻発する事件に神津一人では手が足りないため、助手となる人物を見つけるために今回の上映会を開催する、という背景を解説してから本編が始まりました。 『呪縛の家』は、探偵・神津恭介とその友人・松下研三が、怪しい新興宗教の本家で起きた奇怪な一家連続殺人事件の謎を解くミステリーです。 最初の殺人事件が起きたところまで舞台映像を視聴したのち、参加者は4つのチームに分かれ、別室でシンキングタイムへ。終了時間になったら神津が再登場し、答え合わせをしたところで一区切り。続きの映像で別の事件を目撃して、再びシンキングタイム……という流れを繰り返しながら、徐々に事件の全貌を明かしていきます。 シンキングタイムでは、配布された捜査資料から登場人物の証言、事件現場周辺の見取り図、新聞の切り抜きなどの情報を駆使して、神津から出された問題に回答していきます。手紙には時代背景を考慮したデザインの切手が使われていたり、新聞記事が本物のように作り込まれていたりと、没入感を高めるための工夫が細部まで凝らされていました。 与えられた時間が各4分～12分と非常にタイトなうえ、事件が起きるごとに新しい資料が追加されていくので、議論はかなり慌ただしいものに。 取材でうかがった筆者も、ありがたいことに参加者に配られる捜査資料一式をいただくことができました。舞台映像で登場人物たちのセリフや行動を見逃さず、捜査資料を隅々までチェックすれば真相にたどり着けるはず……ですが、こういったイベントの参加経験がなかったため、資料に目を通すだけでほとんどの時間を使ってしまいました。 しかし、一方の参加者は議論しつつ、初対面でもスムーズに書記係、資料を読み込む係と役割分担を行うなど、ずいぶん手慣れた様子。その発想力の高さや回答をまとめるスピード感は驚愕の一言でした。 何名かにお聞きしたところ、多くは謎解きイベントの常連。なかには毎日のようにマーダーミステリー（自らが登場人物になる会話型の推理ゲーム）をやっているという強者もいたので、レベルの高さにも納得です。 最後のシンキングタイムが終了した段階で、推理内容をチームごとにプレゼンテーションの時間が設けられます。結果、どのチームも見事に真犯人をつき止め、トリックや犯行動機もほとんど当てていたことが明らかになり、参加者の表情も満足げ。 最優秀チームを選ぶ審査は、舞台『呪縛の家』の構成・演出を手掛けたノサカラボ主宰の野坂実さんが直々に担当しました。講評では「ハイレベルな戦いでしたね。皆さん阿吽の呼吸で、この回答の正解率。個人的には全チーム最優秀にしたいです」と大絶賛。 「こんなふうに解いていただけるなら、またお芝居でもトリッキーなものを作りたいと思いますので、ぜひ遊びに来てください」とメッセージを送り、舞台の思い出話などもたっぷり語って会場をわかせました。 約2時間半のアトラクションを終えた参加者からは「推理時間が短く、それほど推理が得意ではないのでどうなるかと心配でしたが、チームが経験豊富な方ばかりで議論するのも楽しかったです。次回があったらぜひまた参加したいです！」、「古いお屋敷が好きなので、ここ（雑司が谷旧宣教師館）でミステリーイベントが体験できたのがうれしかったです。雰囲気がでていて気分が上がりました」といった声が聞かれるなど、おおむね好評だったようです。 ■公式のインタビュー動画も公開されています 初心者ながら筆者もじゅうぶん楽しめました。2日間限定のアトラクションであったのが惜しく、次回の開催も期待したいところです。 アトラクション終了後、会場には神津恭介役の林一敬さんが登場。野坂さんとともに2024年2月20日～31日の期間に池袋・サンシャイン劇場で上演される新作舞台『わが一高時代の犯罪』をアピールしました。 じつは今回のアトラクションの様子をこっそり見ていたという林さん。「終わってしまった舞台を、映像とともにこういったイベントとして開催できたこと、それが僕の作品でできたことがとてもうれしいです。これを機に神津恭介というキャラクターを皆さんに知ってもらえたらと思います」とコメントしました。 最優秀チームとして選ばれた参加者に、林さんから『わが一高時代の犯罪』の招待券がプレゼントされるサプライズも。優れたチームワークに賞賛の言葉が送られました。 今後も「池袋ミステリータウン」ではさまざまなミステリーアトラクションが展開予定とのこと。WEBページでは現在開催中のアトラクションをチェックできますので、ぜひ一度のぞいてみてください。 ＜過去の取材レポート＞ 【取材レポート】「連載30周年記念 名探偵コナン展」が池袋で開催。6つのテーマで歴史と魅力を体感、初期設定資料も初公開 【取材レポート】池袋東武のバレンタイン「ショコラマルシェ」が1月31日から開催。過去最多92ブランドが大集合！ 【取材レポート】常設店「ちいかわレストラン」が池袋PARCOに誕生！大人もオーダー可能なお子様ランチなどが楽しめる 【取材レポート】池袋に大型アミューズメント施設「GiGO総本店」がグランドオープン！ 地域最大級の品ぞろえを誇る旗艦店 【体験レポ】サンシャイン60展望台が「てんぼうパーク」としてリニューアルオープン！緑に囲まれた空の公園で憩いの時間を過ごす 取材レポート一覧はこちら
