"Nagoya-style authentic eel," where raw eel is cooked over charcoal, is finally coming to Tokyo! Opening a restaurant in a rented space at the east exit of Ikebukuro Station!
Act Community Co., Ltd., which provides support to franchise headquarters and franchisees, operates a charcoal-grilled eel specialty restaurant called "Hirudake Unagiya," which is based on the concept of "the most cost-effective, authentic eel," and will have its grand opening in Ikebukuro, Tokyo on September 20, 2025!
Lunchtime Unagiya only uses raw Japanese eels. While the number of artisan-less restaurants has increased in recent years, they have chosen to stick to authentic cooking methods and grill raw eels over charcoal, achieving the goal of being "cheap, fast, and delicious!" and has now grown into a restaurant with a constant line of customers at their main branch in Sakae (Naka-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture).

Freshly slaughtered eels are skewered and served on the same day. This item is the "Fuji Mountain Jyu" which uses two luxurious eels.
A casual eel specialty restaurant serving high-quality eel at affordable prices
We source high-quality eel from a wholesaler that has been in business for over 90 years, and use authentic techniques to skewer raw eel every morning and cook it over charcoal from start to finish. We also collaborated with a long-established Kyoto sauce manufacturer to develop a sauce that pairs perfectly with the eel and never gets old, achieving authentic quality not found in other eel chains. "Lunchtime Only Unagi" is possible because we rent space, but we invest the costs of rent and labor into our costs, allowing us to offer high-end quality at affordable prices.
We will bring Nagoya culture to Ikebukuro, "Tokyo's leading sub-center where diverse cultures and people intersect" !
We hope to position it as a "daily treat" for everyone in Ikebukuro.
Nagoya's eel culture is not limited to the Doyo-no-Ushi period, but is a daily occurrence. Therefore, we wanted to share this food culture with you, and so we opened a restaurant in Ikebukuro, the gateway to Tokyo where commerce, culture, and entertainment converge. We hope you will enjoy the eel we are familiar with every day as an everyday food.
By implementing "particularity" and "seasonal fairs" that are not available at other eel restaurants, we are working to enable customers to enjoy eel all year round.
Eel is often thought of as a summer food, but it is actually characterized by its rich fat and tenderness even from winter to spring. Therefore, in order to allow you to enjoy eel all year round, our restaurant holds fairs every season.
Furthermore, in order to provide eel that is no different from that of high-end restaurants in terms of the cooking process and food management methods, we have made these into brand rules and continue to work on them as our commitment, thereby realizing the provision of quality products that customers can trust.

<Features of the lunchtime eel restaurant>
◼️Made with Japanese eel, the kind served at high-end restaurants
We use Japanese eels that are raised on carefully selected feed and in water with excellent quality.
Our restaurant uses only carefully selected, high-quality, and safe eels that meet strict standards and are delivered by a wholesaler that has been in business for 90 years.
The eels sold at high-end restaurants are known for their soft meat, rich fat, and mild flavor.
◼️Perfect reproduction of artisanal techniques and significantly reduced delivery time
At long-established restaurants, it used to take 20 to 30 minutes for food to be served, but by successfully reducing the waiting time to around 10 minutes, customers can now easily take their food out as well as dine in.
◼️ Reasonably priced yet filling
Nowadays, eel has come to be seen as a luxury food reserved for special occasions, but we are committed to offering it at a reasonable price so that it can be enjoyed on an everyday basis.
By renting a store space, we are able to reduce costs and return the savings to our cost price, allowing us to offer our products at roughly half the market price.
