Featuring the works of production processes of “World Masterpiece Theater (Sekai Meisaku Gekijo)” series, this exhibition introduces 40 years of professionalism of NIPPON ANIMATION, the leading animation company of Japan.
Important materials such as documents and original drawings by incredible animators and staffs such as Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata of Studio Ghibli, and Yasuji Mori who has been recognized as the god of Japanese animation will be exhibited. The exhibition period is from Thursday July 30 to Tuesday August 18.
One of the highlights is one hundred original drawings of settings and plots of characters. These drawings made during production processes were not supposed to open to public; however, they are finally on exhibition!
There are drawings of a variety of masterpieces of all generations including “A Dog of Flanders,” “3000 Leagues in Search of Mother,” and “Anne of Green Gables” of the 1970s, “Princess Sarah” and “Little Women” of the 1980s, “Romeo and the Black Brothers” of the 1990s, and “Before Green Gables” of 2009. In addition, other than “World Masterpiece Theater” series, there will be such drawings of other famous series that also represent Japanese animation such as “Future Boy Conan” and “The Adventures of Maya the Bee.”
Please enjoy rediscovering the fascination of these masterpieces, looking at these drawings tell you detailed information on each character’s life, characteristics, and the world in which they live. In addition, there are original animation cels and goods of long time ago exhibited.
Furthermore, it plays very rare short films of heartwarming stories and past works of NIPPON ANIMATION such as TV commercials of private companies and campaign movies. The trailer of the latest movie “Sindbad” just released on July 4 will be played as well.
